What are the tests I have to clear?

The United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) uses SEVIS fee payments to fund and maintain the Student Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS), and also the immigration database used for processing documents for the international students and exchange visitors during their course of stay in the United States. It is $350 with a validity of one year. You need to pay this fee after confirmation of your admission in USA.
What are special requirements for students under the age of 18 to study in the US?
All the students who are under 18 years of age should have arrangements in place for a guardian for the duration of their stay till they reach the age of 18 in USA. If there is no guardian for you in the US, you can then avail the option of government certified local guardians available at a minimal cost. What is the admission criteria for Bachelor’s/Diploma/Certificate courses in Canada?
The admission is Flexible admission and candidates should have an IELTS score of 6 / 6.5 overall based on the course and also institution requirement.
What is the admission criterion for Post-Graduate/Masters courses?
Students need to have a 2-3 years of full-time work experience. The score for GMAT has to be a minimum of 580-600 and IELTS score which is 6.5 overall with no band less than 6. Students should have completed a 4-year Bachelor’s degree. This again depends on the course and the institution.
What is the admission criterion for admission to Undergraduate/Bachelors level?
Students should have scored 70% in 12th grade and this again depends on the course and the institution.
Which intake should I choose for?
It may become slightly confusing to choose the intake which can be considered as the best for you. This depends on many factors such as the availability of your preferred course of the program, your scores and academic records, English language proficiency test scores, the acceptance rates, as well as the job opportunities and whether/when you are ready to join the program.
Most of the Indian students choose the September intake, but even January and April intakes are considered good for few programs. If your scorecards are still not ready, it’s better to wait and then apply for the next intake.

What is the procedure to follow for studying in Canada?
The first step involves securing an admission to a Canadian Designated Learning Institution (DLI) that has been recognized by the government of Canada. After the student receives the crucial letter of acceptance from a DLI, they can now apply for a study permit. Applications are either made through online or by mail.
All the new study permits are now issued at a Canadian port of entry. An applicant who submits a request for the foreign Canadian Visa Office will be given a letter of approval which states that they should next travel to a Canadian port of entry for getting the study permit, which corresponds to the duration of the student’s education.
What is the exact difference between a student visa and a temporary resident visa?
A study permit authorizes the international students to pursue their education during their course duration in Canada, while a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) is for a person to enter Canada. It is applicable only for students from certain countries.

When will I get Permanent Residency?

After securing visa what is the period that I can fly to USA?

Is new study permit required if I change the institution?
If a student is transferred from one Designated Learning Institution (DLI) to another one, even if that includes same level of study, the students has to notify Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship (IRCC). For this, they need to update their online account and ensured that the college or school is a DLI.
This is also applicable for the post-secondary students who shift their level of study (for example, from a bachelor’s to master’s program).
Can I include my spouse in the application?
A spouse or the common-law partner of a student with a valid study permit and enrolled full-time at any qualified post-secondary institution, may be considered as eligible for applying for an open work permit.

The open work permit issued for a spouse will be valid for the same period of time as that of the study permit, and the period it remains valid. The student should be able to clearly indicate in the application form that the spouse will accompany them to Canada. In case a spouse decides to study in Canada later, they should start processing their own study permit application.

Can my dependent children accompany me to Canada?
An applicant’s dependent children is eligible to accompany the parent to Canada. However, this involves an application for a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) or the Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) that has to be issued for the accompanying dependent.
What are the different immigration programs available for students who wish to settle permanently in Canada?
